Here are a number of links to websites that youth might find helpful. It covers a variety if topics so browse through them and you might find something interesting. If you find any other interesting websites that you'd like to see added here, let us know!

 

www.lsimusic.com - The Life Saver Initiative is basically a 3 fold project. The goals are to: 1. Get Hot Line and Crisis Info to the people that need it.  2. To promote "our music".  3. We also have interactive software on the CD to impart hope and encouragement to all that partake.

 

Reality Check - After high school, you will need to pay for housing, clothes, food etc. Find out how much money you will need and which career will pay for all your needs.

www.FYI3.com - FYI stands for youth who are involved, informed and independent. It’s a comprehensive, youth-oriented site with information, advice and interactive feature for young people leaving foster care.

www.YouthComm.org - Youth Communication is the publisher of Represent, a monthly magazine for youth in care, written and edited by youth. 

www.MockingbirdSociety.org  The Mockingbird Society is an independent, non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the safety and quality of life and future of the children and adolescents living in the foster care/group home system nationwide. 

National Foster Youth Advisory Council - NFYAC is a diverse national group of current and former foster youth and adult supporters from several states who have had direct experience with the child welfare systems. 

www.fosterclub.org - a website that maintains a nationally networked community of foster kids and provides them with support, motivation, education and benefits.

www.yanorthtexas.org - Big Thought (formerly Young Audiences of North Texas) is a learning partnership inspiring, empowering, and uniting children and communities through education, arts and culture.

www.teencentral.net - the place to get teen help for teen problems. This web site is for teens and by teens.

www.juniorplayers.org - a Dallas based, non-profit, arts organization that seeks to transform the lives of youth.

www.freechild.org - a community organization located in Olympia, Washington that is committed to engaging children and youth through radical democracy.

www.connectforkids.org - helps adults make their communities better places for families and children. Provides solutions-oriented coverage of critical issues for children and families.

www.nilausa.org - a grassroots organization that is a national network of individuals and public and private agencies committed to enhancing the futures for young people, their families, and their communities.

National Resource Center for Youth Development - NRCYD increases the capacity and resources of States and Tribes to effectively help youth in care establish permanent connections and achieve successful transitions to adulthood.

National Resource Center for Family-Centered Practice and Permanency Planning - a training, technical assistance, and information services organization dedicated to help strengthen the capacity of State, local, Tribal and other publicly administered or supported child welfare agencies.

www.guideposts.com - great site with a spiritual message that doesn't drown out the fun.

www.teenslivingwithcancer.org - a website that provides information and support for teens who have cancer.

www.teenink.com - a monthly print magazine, website, and a book series all written by teens for teens.

www.teenhealthfx.com - online resource for any and all questions regarding your health, your relationships, your body and your sexuality.

eBiz4Teens - an eBusiness resource created especially by teens for teens. eB4T is a teen community which provides essential vocabulary, main concepts, and great resources related to eBusiness and entrepreneurship.

www.advocatesforyouth.org - a website dedicated to creating programs and advocating for policies that help young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health.

www.youthhiv.org - a website created by and for HIV-positive youth and HIV peer educators. site contains HIV prevention messages that may not be appropriate for all audiences.

www.mysistahs.org - a website created by and for young women of color to provide information and offer support on sexual and reproductive health issues through education and advocacy.
