Dallas CAN! Academy

Dallas CAN! Academy is a non-traditional, student-centered educational program for individuals between the ages 16-21. Since 1985, the academy has been helping young men and women achieve a better life through education. With progressive educational programs and a strong counseling component, the academy provides a successful alternative to the public school.

Dallas CAN! Academy Programs:

Families for Learning (FFL):

  • Available at Dallas CAN! Academy, Oak Cliff Campus

  • Helps young mothers, ages 17-21, obtain their GEDs and develop parenting skills

  • Provides assistance in finding child-care resources for pre-school age children of FFL students

Full Diploma High School Program:

  • Available at all campuses for students 16-21 years of age

  • Extracurricular activities include: basketball, cheerleading, student council, prom, field trips and cap & gown graduations.

Summer Youth Employment Program:

  • For ages 14-15

  • After April 17th, call 214-943-6073

General Information:

  • Students need to be between the ages of 16-21

  • Students must complete and pass the 8th grade

  • Students attend school from 7:45am - 12:00pm OR 12:45pm - 5:00pm

  • Students are required to graduate with 22 credits with all academic courses and PASS all portions of the TAAS.  

Enrollment information:

  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:00am

  • After we meet our school quota of student enrollment, we will then have a waiting list until the next available space.

Documents Required:

  • Birth Certificate (State registered, not hospital issued)

  • Social security card (no copies please)

  • Immunization Records (records must be up to date)

  • Official transcript/working document (obtain from previous school)

  • Withdrawal/Drop Slip from last school attended
