Dominion Training and Support Center

 

Dominion Training and Support Center is offering free Computer Training Classes for TANF/Foodstamp recipients and those who are employed with at least 1 dependent under the age of 18. The dependent do not have to live in the home with the parent. Those who are employed may also take the class, but they must have a salary under $37,000.00 per year with at least 1 dependent under the age of 18.

 

You will need to bring the following information to register:

  • Proof of income (paycheck stub, unemployment papers, social security papers, TANF/Foodstamp); if no income & living with someone have the person bring a letter from the person they are living with verifying that they have no income & they are being supported by the person they are living with.

  • Proof of residence (lease, mortgage, utility bill)

  • Social Security Card for you and dependents

  • Birth Certificate for dependents (not needed if they bring social security cards)

  • Picture ID

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • Proof of Citizenship (birth certificate, U.S. Passport, naturalization certificate, or U.S. Citizenship Certificate)

The classes include:

Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, Outlook & Powerpoint, Keyboarding, 10-key, resume writing, & Internet, customer service, & interview skills. Class is 3 months (12 weeks)
8:00am – 12:00 noon Monday – Friday
6:00pm – 10:00pm Monday – Thursday
Each session last 4 hours per day.

Operating System – Installation, Configuration, Basic Networking, Diagnostic & Troubleshooting, Printing, Safety & Preventive Maintenance. Class is 2 ½ months (10 weeks)
8:00am – 12:00 noon Monday – Friday
6:00pm – 10:00pm Monday – Thursday
Each session last 4 hours per day.

We also assist our students with job placement & daycare services if funds are available. Daycare services are only provided from 8:00am – 12:00 noon.
