a ride to get medical or dental care? We'll get you there!
The
Medical Transportation Program (MTP) knows that you don't want to miss
your own or your child's visits to the the doctor or dentist. if you or
your child has Medicaid, but no way to get to a Medicaid or Texas Health
Steps visit, MTP pays for rides to and from the doctor, dentist, hospital
or drugstore. Just call our toll-free number (877-633-8747) Monday-Friday,
8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Three
ways to travel:
1.
You have a car but no gas money.
MTP
pays you by the mile to take yourself or your child to a Texas Health
Steps or another Medicaid visit and to return home. For MTP to pay, you
must have a current driver's license, license plates, inspection sticker
and car insurance.
2.
You don't have a car, and you don't have gas money to pay someone else
to drive you.
MTP
pays for someone you know to drive you or your child to the visit and to
bring you home. this person can be a friend, relative or someone else who
has current driver's license, license plates, inspection sticker and car
insurance.
3.
You don't have a car and you don't have anyone else to drive you.
When
neither you nor someone else can drive you and your child, MTP finds the
best way to get you and your child to the visit and back home. these rides
are free. MTP may choose:
