My Own Place, a program of the YWCA, Ft. Worth

Program Description:
Transitional housing program in downtown Ft. Worth for young women, 18-21 years old, who are exiting substitute care or have exited care within the past 3 years.


Eligibility:

  • Female

  • 18-21 years of age

  • Employable

  • Drug-free

  • Motivated to become independent

Other important information:


My Own Place offers:

  • Your own private furnished room and bathroom

  • On-site laundry and kitchen facilities

  • Near movies, shopping, entertainment. Restaurants, work-out faciliites, swimming pool, and public library all are within 1-5 blocks.

  • Opportunities for college or vocational training

  • Assistance with finding a job

  • Bus passes for work and school on all primary bus lines

  • Convenient and fun downtown Fort Worth within walkign distance of hundred of employers

  • Cool staff to talk to!

My Own place requires that you:

  • Work and/or attend school 40 hours a week.

  • Remain drug-free

  • Pay $30 weekly for housing and all services
